Las-Brita Style Socks

These are a pair of socks I did in the Klas-Brita style, also from Lary Schmitt’s book "Lots of Socks." These were done in a blue wool/mohair blend. This style is very easy to do and goes very fast, especially in the Oslo stitch. You start this pair of socks with the toe. Once you work the toe cap you then run a series of stitches down the center of the sole of the foot. Then you simply work in rounds building up the sole of the sock as you go. I have one problem with these socks. When you turn the corner from the toe cap to start the sole of the sock you end up with a hole in the bottom of the sock. I had to go back and fill in the area after they were done. I’m not sure how to avoid this problem in the future. If I add stitches into the corner then I end up with too many stitches along the sole of the foot. Overall, I think these are they are very cute socks. |
